The Cheat Code Editor for R4/DSTT keeps crashing, how can I fix it?

I was trying to add a No Freeze code to a game on my DSTT, but when I tried to open the usrcheat.dat file, Cheat Code Editor said:
“Cheat Code Editor MFC Application has stopped working”
