How do you type in the cheat code for guitar hero 3?

i have the cheat code and everything, and i know where to go, but i have no idea how to type it in on it
i tried it before but it didnt work.
and google was no help:(

   so if you know where the cheat menu is just click that press the fret(s) and you have to strum

   The notes sound do the same with the notes sound do the notes it tells you unlocked hyperspeedwii version.
   The notes it tells you then strum example hit the same with the others and strum it tells.
